USDA’s Deputy Secretary Kathleen Merrigan will be a featured speaker Sept. 20 during the All Things Organic Conference at the Baltimore Convention Center. Merrigan will speak and take questions on a variety of topics germane to organic including the tenth anniversary of the final rule for organic, the Organic Literacy Program, and the implications for organic in the next Farm Bill. The Deputy Secretary makes her appearance during the first of a three-session series on Organic Agriculture Policy, offered on the afternoon of Thursday, Sept. 20. The first will be as featured speaker from 1:30-2 p.m. in Room 314. She will then take part in the” Farm Bill in Brief” session in Room 314 between 2-3 p.m. Finally, she will take part in “Beyond NOP: USDA Programs Assist Organic Farmers & Trade,” from 3-4 p.m. in Room 315.The full All Things Organic Conference agenda is posted online.
