A news article published last week focused on COTA’s testimony during the last week of February to the Senate Standing Committee on Agriculture and Forestry recommending taking measures to address Canada’s need for more domestic production of organic ingredients to meet demand. COTA’s International and Regulatory Affairs Manager Marie-Eve Levert spoke to the Senate on issues regarding international market access priorities for the organic sector, possible financial support from the federal government to help growers to transition to organic, and the growth of the global organic market.
