As announced in a special OTA News Flash on Dec. 20, the work of OTA’s Food Safety Task Force has made a significant impact on the future of food safety regulations for the organic sector! In response to public comments, FDA released a statement on key provisions of the proposed produce safety rule that will be revised and released for a second round of comments. FDA plans to propose a revised rule by early summer 2014 and seek comment on it. FDA will accept additional comments only on those sections of the proposed rules that have been revised.
