USDA’s National Organic Standards Board (NOSB) is now accepting public comments on subcommittee proposals to be discussed at its meeting Oct. 28-30 in Louisville, KY, at the Galt House Hotel. The tentative meeting agenda (PDF) is now available along with the meeting materials (all proposals and discussion documents) (PDF). The final deadline to submit written comments as well as sign up for an in-person oral comment slot is October 2 by 11:59pm ET. OTA is in the process of reviewing the subcommittee proposals, and will release a summary of each proposal later this week through our dedicated NOSB Report News Flash. OTA is seeking upfront input from interested members by September 23, so its draft comments can be posted by Monday, Sept. 29, for further input. Your feedback is critical and will significantly help shape OTA’s comments to NOSB. If you have questions, contact Gwendolyn Wyard, OTA’s Regulatory Director, Organic Standards & Food Safety, or Nathaniel Lewis, OTA’s Senior Crops and Livestock Specialist.
