OTA took part in SIAL Middle East this week in Abu Dhabi, and gave a presentation yesterday focusing on the U.S. organic market, trends and important opportunities for U.S. produced USDA certified organic products. This is the first OTA presentation in the UAE and the region. Demand for organic products is growing in the Middle East. In 2014, Middle Eastern countries imported $13,133,988 of U.S. organic products tracked by existing HS codes. The number of imports of U.S. organic products has nearly doubled from January to September 2015, reaching $24,866,490. OTA’s Associate Director for International Trade Monique Marez will round out the trip with retail visits and meetings in Kuwait.
