Organic Production Survey looks at only certified operations

Certified organic growers in the United States sold more than $3.5 billion in organically grown agricultural commodities in 2011, according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s National Agricultural Statistics Service (NASS) in its 2011 Certified Organic Production Survey. The results, released Oct. 4, were from the first NASS survey focusing exclusively on USDA-certified organic producers. NASS summarized highlights from the survey in a data release briefing.
