On Monday morning, OTA’s comments were highlighted in an article entitled “OTA to USDA: Enforce regulations” which ran in Politico. The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) published a Federal Register notice in November to solicit public comments to its Animal Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) concerning recommendations from USDA’s Advisory Committee on Biotechnology and 21st Century Agriculture (AC21) on how agricultural coexistence in the United States can be strengthened. The comment period closed March 4. OTA’s comments are now available online. See APHIS: Enhancing Agricultural Coexistence. For more information, contact Gwendolyn Wyard, OTA’s Regulatory Director of Organic Standards and Food Safety.
