Global organic food and beverage sales in 2011—the latest statistics available—reached nearly $63 billion, according to The World of Organic Agriculture 2013 published by the International Federation of Organic Agriculture Movements (IFOAM) and the Research Institute of Organic Agriculture (FiBL). The annual statistical report was unveiled by IFOAM and FiBL at BioFach in February. For the North American update, Barbara Haumann, OTA’s Senior Writer/Editor, wrote the United States of America chapter, while Matthew Holmes, Executive Director of COTA, and Anne Macey of Canadian Organic Growers co-authored the chapter on Canada. More information about the publication is available online.
