Delaware Valley University in Doylestown, PA, is offering a new Organic Livestock Management course this fall semester. Rodale Insisutt4e Farm Manager Ross Duffield is teaching the course. Students will learn to manage organic livestock through lectures, discussions and field trips, and will gain hands-on experience with a variety of livestock. The course will also cover the National Organic Standards, the organic certification process for livestock and alternative niche markets. Rodale Institute and DelVal already have an existing relationship through an Organic Farming Program, a 36-credit certification program that takes a year to complete.
