USDA’s National Institute of Food and Agriculture (NIFA) is now accepting applications for its Integrated Research, Education, and Extension Competitive Grants Program—Organic Transitions (ORG) for fiscal year 2016 to help solve critical organic agriculture issues, priorities, or problems. In its request for applications, NIFA said the anticipated amount available for 2016 ORG grants is approximately $3.8 million. The application deadline is April 15. In December, NIFA announced the availability of $17.6 million in funding to support research and outreach activities to help growers, producers and processors find innovative ways to improve organic agriculture through its Organic Agriculture Research and Extension Initiative (OREI).OREI applications are due March 10.
