OTA’s Farmers Advisory Council (FAC) held its winter call this past week with farmers representing the diversity of organic agriculture in North America. The group heard updates from each region and sector participating in FAC, and then launched into substantive discussions around issues facing America’s organic farmers. Topics ranged from the Trans-Pacific Partnership to Hydroponics to Climate Change to Coexistence with GMOs. As FAC continues to grow its membership and reach through the organic sector, the topics that the group tackles become correspondingly more ambitious and big-picture.
