In partnership with NSF Training and Education, OTA offered a free webinar entitled “FSMA, Organic Processors and HACCP” on Aug. 23. In this informative webinar, OTA’s Regulatory Director of Organic Standards and Food Safety Gwendolyn Wyard and NSF Training and Education Lead Technical Trainer Margaret Kolk discussed the Food Safety Modernization Act, its requirements for the identification of potential food safety hazards and the implementation of protective controls using HACCP, the globally accepted food safety system. The presentation, now available for download on OTA’s website, focused on the common elements of the HACCP System and the Organic Systems Plan and the potential for integrating the two.
