OTA will participate in the “EcoFarm Conference: Regenerating our Lands and Water” to be held January 20-23 at the Asilomar Conference Grounds in Pacific Grove, CA. This year the conference continues and expands its emphasis on discussion groups and peer-to-peer sharing forums, including working meetings and strategy sessions. OTA will give a number of presentations. OTA’s CEO/Executive Director Laura Batcha will speak in a session on “Scaling up Organic: Into the Mainstream or Around the Margins.” Gwendolyn Wyard, OTA’s Senior Director of Regulatory and Technical Affairs, will take part in the “Organic Textiles from Field to Tee” session, and Nate Lewis, OTA’s Senior Crops and Livestock Specialist, will speak on policy efforts and public/private initiatives to attract new growers to organic production and support existing producers during their transition to organic.
