More than 650 organic visionaries, activists and business representatives gathered last week to celebrate the work of The Organic Center at its annual benefit dinner, and successfully raised $415,000 to help advance the projects of the non-profit research and education organization. In addition, more than 1.7 million people outside the ballroom shared the experience through 845 social media updates posted by some 350 dinner guests and influencers at the gala. The sold-out fundraiser, based around the theme “Good Food. Good Company. Good Science,” featured famed restaurateur Alice Waters as the keynote speaker and an all-organic menu designed by chef Matthew Raiford, executive chef and owner of the Farmer and The Larder in Georgia. At the dinner, The Center released its 2015 Annual Report outlining its work and accomplishments during the past year and providing a look forward. Photos and video from the evening will be released soon.
